1826 Half Penny

The 1826 UK halfpenny obverse features the laureate head of King George IV facing left.

The surrounding legend reads:

‘GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA’, with the date below.

The reverse shows Britannia seated facing right, holding a trident, hand resting on a shield.

The legend reads ‘BRITANNIAR: REX FID: DEF:’, with a rose, thistle, and shamrock below.


Exact date is difficult to read, but in the right lighting 1826 can be made out.
