1963 Sixpence

The 1963 UK sixpence obverse features the laureate bust of young Elizabeth II facing right, with the surrounding legend:

‘+ ELIZABETH-II-DEI-GRATIA-REGINA’

The reverse shows four crossed sprigs, emblems representing the four member former kingdoms of the United Kingdom: the Tudor rose of England, leek for Wales, thistle for Scotland, and shamrock for Ireland.
