1948 Shilling

The 1948 UK shilling obverse features the bare head of King George VI facing left, with the legend:
‘GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX’

The Scottish reverse shows a lion seated on the royal crown, facing front, holding a sword and a sceptre, with the date divided to either side.

The legend reads ‘FID:DEF:IND:IMP’, with the words ‘ONE SHILLING’ below.
