The 1942 Australian shilling obverse features the bare head of King George VI facing left, with the following surrounding legend:
‘GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP.’
The reverse shows a merino ram, a tribute to the wool industry. Either side are stars, and above is the word ‘AUSTRALIA’. Below is the word ‘SHILLING’, and the date.
